MIRROR OF THE SOUL

"Let there be light." And the light was born within us.

In the ancient traditions of the Middle East lies the premise that we are the divine spark — the spiritual miracle housed within the physical body, aligned with the Creative Source. Within this vision, everything begins and returns to the Higher Self, as a path back to the primordial light from which we originate. The memory of this vibrational field is evoked in Lucía Dälél’s new exhibition, which seeks to rekindle the remembrance of our purest existence.

The Colombian visual artist (b. 1984, Bogotá), of Italian, Lebanese, and Israeli descent, and based in the United States, presents her Bubbles series for the first time in Brazil as a fully realized exhibition. Born in her mother’s porcelain studio and granddaughter of a healer and apothecary, Lucía has cultivated a multifaceted artistic trajectory — from watercolor and dry pastel to acrylic and oil painting — and now turns to photography to translate the four principles that sustain her practice: the sacredness of light, the resonance of color, the value of the present moment, and the expansion of perception.

A devoted researcher of universal languages and sacred scriptures, an energy facilitator and practitioner of Kabbalah, trained in Industrial Engineering and Art History, an ambassador of spirituality and defender of the feminine force that nurtures the world — and certified by the International Academy of Art and Science of Color — Lucía positions herself as a vessel through which astral realms are translated into art: the spark that connects spirit and matter. Her works are the expression of her mystical journey and the synthesis of her spiritual self-knowledge, serving as compasses of supraconsciousness.

The images presented here in their premiere were captured between 2023 and 2025 in collaboration with Brazilian photographer Gabriela Drewes and constructed from the atmosphere created by Lucía. The glass vessels contain color frequencies — one of the seventy-two sacred resonances — composed of natural pigments, plant, mineral, and biodynamic extracts, as well as spagyric quintessences of crystals and gemstones. Each capsule is deliberately held in the artist’s left hand, outdoors, from an elevated level, under sunlight and the clear blue sky. There is no artificial lighting and no digital manipulation. Photographed at high speed, the Bubbles register the precise moment in which the liquid vibrates in response to the artist’s movement and intention.

Like flashes of a rainbow, the colors align with the chakra system, corresponding to the soul’s mission. Each hue manifests a distinct psychological and metaphysical field, attuned to the frequencies of different dimensions of life. Lucía invites us to recognize ourselves intuitively through color, which acts as a living code of the soul. Yet we do not choose the colors; the colors choose us. This chromatic map amplifies the senses and illuminates with greater clarity who we truly are in essence.

The alchemical interaction between light, color, and energy, crystallized within a prismatic bubble, reveals a symbolic mirror reflecting where we stand and what we are ready to awaken. Each Bubble is a microcosm of suspended time, a visual meditation in which the artist arrests the instant to remind us of the necessity of pause and full presence in the now. With more than eighteen works on view and seventy-two preserved in the gallery’s archive, printed on museum-grade paper or methacrylate, alongside a central painting inspired by Mark Rothko and a participatory installation, the works transcend perception and invite us — beyond spectatorship — into an immersive experience of inner transformation. What you see before you is the reflection of your own expanded consciousness embodied in matter.
